Introduction

Occirhenea georgiana is the only described rhytidid from SW Western Australia. The species was listed as extinct by the Western Australian Department of Environment and Conservation but has subsequently been rediscovered at Pemberton (Kendrick et al. 1971).

Tall forest.

 

Diagnosis

Shell small, pale yellow, subdiscoidal with flattened to moderately raised spire; protoconch with close low radial threads, teleoconch sculpture of prominent regular radial ribs above, smooth and glossy below; umbilicus moderately wide, U-shaped; diameter to 10mm.
