SYSTEMATICS

Newsteadia martini is close to N. biroi, but differs in having rows of hair-like setae inside of the ovisac band and long tubular ducts in dorsal wax plate bands and by the absence of wide wax plate bands on the venter of the thorax and by the presence of tibial sensory setae (see Kozár, F. & Konczné Benedicty, Z. 2000. Revision of Newsteadia of the Australian and Pacific regions, with description of eleven new species (Homoptera : Coccoidea, Ortheziidae). STRUCTURE

Mounted adult female 1.1 mm long and 0.8 mm wide. Antennae 4-segmented (see Kozár, F. & Konczné Benedicty, Z. 2000.
