Introduction
The synonymy of Melobasina with Nesotrinchus by Bellamy (2002, 2003, 2008) is based on a misinterpretation of a note of Hołyński (1993: 27) (see Bílý et al. (2009). The genus Melobasina is no longer part of the Australian fauna.
