• Telasco Adams, H. & Adams, A. 1853. The genera of Recent Mollusca arranged according to their organization. London : John Van Voorst Vol. 1(Parts I-VIII) pp. 1-256, pls 1-32. [119] [as Buccinum cuvierii Payraudeau, 1826; Original rank: subgenus (of Nassa). The type species fixation by Bucquoy, Dautzenberg & Dollfus is somewhat ambiguously worded ("One can consider N[assa] costulata as the type of this subgenus"), but it has generally been considered a valid fixation. Buccinum costulatum Brocchi, 1814, was not a nominal species originally included in Telasco, but Bucquoy et al. listed Buccinum variabile [an originally included species] in its synonymy. Cossmann, 1901, Essais de paléoconchologie comparée, 4: 212, also cited Buccinum costulatum Brocchi as "neotype" [= type species]].

   Buccinum variabile Philippi, 1836 by subsequent designation (Bucquoy, Dautzenberg & Dollfus, 1882, Les mollusques marins du Roussillon, 1(2): 52).
• Tarazeuxis Iredale, T. 1936. Australian molluscan notes. No. 2. Records of the Australian Museum 19(5): 267-340, pls 20-24 [322] [as Nassa gaudiosus Hinds, 1844; nomen nudem.; Cernohorsky, 1972, Records of the Auckland Institute and Museum, 9: 161, treated Tarazeuxis as a nomen nudum. However, the type and only included species is diagnosed, which makes Tarazeuxis an available name].

  Type species:

   Nassa mucronata Adams, 1852 by original designation.
