Tribe Mysini Haworth, 1825
Introduction
The tribe Mysini is the largest and most widely distributed group of mysidaceans. The tribe comprises 50 genera and about 260 species (Price et al. 2001). Seven genera and 19 species, mainly in the genus Anisomysis, are known from Australian waters. Müller (1993) and Price et al. (2001) catalogued the family.
Diagnosis
Antenna 2 scale present (very variable), outer margin smooth, without setae or outer margin smooth, setose. 3rd thoracopod forming a pereopod. 3rd–8th thoracopods endopod with fused carpus and propodus (tarsus), carpopropodus divided into several subsegments. Marsupium composed of two pairs of oostegites (additional rudimentary oostegites may be found on the 5th and 6th thoracic limbs). (Generated from Meland 2002)
