Introduction

Each species of Myerslopella has a discrete distribution within the wet tropics of North Queensland. This one is found in the Cape Tribulation area.

Ecological Descriptors

All stages: litter, phloem feeder.

 

Diagnosis

Crown narrower than pronotum and 50% longer, notched at meson; pronotal "paranotal" lobes present but lower than upper level of eyes; humeral angles of tegmina weak, tegmina flat on dorsum; tips of tegmina not produced; abdominal tubercles forming four rows, median pair approximate, lateral pair widely separated; abdomen strongly inflated with tubercles forming prominent crest in lateral aspect. Male connective triangular, aedeagus short, strongly curved at base, tip pointed, style tip blunt, twisted. Length ♂ 1.9–2.5 mm, ♀ 2.3–2.9 mm. (Hamilton 1999).
