Introduction

Each species of Myerslopella has a discrete distribution within the wet tropics of North Queensland. This one is found at 500 m in the Bellenden Ker mountain range. Another species occurs near the summit of the same range.

Ecological Descriptors

All stages: litter, phloem feeder.

 

Diagnosis

Crown as wide as pronotum and twice as long, shallowly notched at meson; pronotal "paranotal" lobes present but lower than upper level of eyes; humeral angles of tegmina absent, tegmina evenly curved laterad, collar-like; tips of tegmina weakly produced; abdominal tubercles forming six widely space rows; abdomen strongly inflated with tubercles forming prominent crest in lateral aspect. Male connective T-shaped, aedeagus short, evenly curved throughout length, tip pointed, style tip blunt, foot shaped. Length: ♂ 2.1–2.4 mm; ♀ 2.4–2.7 mm (Hamilton 1999).
