Tribe Mnemosynini Emeljanov, 1992

Compiler and date details

26 August 2010 - Murray J. Fletcher

Introduction

The tribe Mnemosynini was known only from the Afrotropical, Neotropical and Oriental regions until 2006 when Löcker et.al. (2006) added two species from Australia. All extant species are included in the genus Mnemosyne Stål, although the extinct genus Autrimpus Szwedo is also included in the tribe.

Diagnosis

This tribe is distinguished by the presence of tubercles in the cells of the forewings as well as along the veins. In all other tribes of Cixiidae, the tubercles are only found on the veins.
