Type data:
Holotype ANIC ♂ (coll.: 21.xi.1981, J. Balderson), Thornton Range, 11 km E of Daintree, Queensland.
Introduction
This species was described from two male specimens from localities in the wet tropics of North Queensland.

All stages: phloem feeder.
Diagnosis
This species can be differentiated from its congeners on the basis of features of the male genitalia. It also has the pronotum very strongly convex in profile. A comprehensive description with illustrations was provided by Stevens (1990).
