Holotype ASCU ♂ (coll.: 13.x.1979, M.S. & B.J. Moulds), Jardine River, Cape York Peninsula, Queensland.

Introduction
This large brown species is known only from the type locality on Cape York Peninsula, North Queensland. It was named "after Max and Barbara Moulds, collectors of the only known specimens, in recognition of their contribution to Australian entomology."
