Melobasis Laporte & Gory, 1837 [original designation].
Introduction
A new tribe, recently described by Bílý (2000), recognizes an emergent theme that much of the Australian jewel beetle fauna is likely as divergent as the ancient marsupial lineage. This was discussed earlier in a paper by Bílý & Volkovitsh (1996).
