Introduction
Melanterius porcatus Erichson appears to represent several cryptic species (Pinzón-Navarro et al. 2017: 26) and although Lea (1899) 'reported collecting M. porcatus from Acacia decurrens at Forest Reefs in New South Wales, … this evidently does not refer to the true M. porcatus'. Pinzón-Navarro et al. (2017: 26) maintain that the true larval host is unknown.
