Introduction

In their detailed study on host plants of species in the genus Melanterius, Pinzón-Navarro et al. (2017), describe 5 new species, and, tentatively, divide the genus into 6 species groups. These species groupings are not included here. Pinzón-Navarro et al. (2017) redescribe the genus, and compare it with other Cleogonini genera.
