Introduction
Canestrini (1884) suggested that Megisthanus testudo Thorell, 1882 (male) and Megisthanus doreianus Thorell, 1882 (female) may belong to the same species. Seeman (2017, 2019) drew attention to the taxonomic challenges caused by intra-specific variation in Megisthanus.
