Ecological Descriptors

All stages: gregarious, myrmecophilous, phloem feeder.

 

Diagnosis

Head ventral surface white with pale brown markings on the anteclypeus, lora, maxillary plates and frontoclypeus anteriorly and black markings on the vertex; eyes bright red. Pronotum grey mottled with very dark brown and with a broad median longitudinal white stripe. Scutellum chestnut brown with pale brown markings, laterally pale brown. Tegmen whitish hyaline with dark brown markings and a broad white fascia extending from the costal to the claval border. Thorax ventral surface with white and brown markings. Legs, tibiae very dark brown with white and dark brown markings. Abdomen ventral surface pale brown. Length 6 mm (Evans 1942).
