Type species:
Malarina monteithi Davies, 2000 by original designation.
Introduction
The cribellate genus Malarina comprises four species from rainforests of the wet tropics south of Cairns in northern Queensland. Little is known of the spiders’ biology, except they appear to be litter dwellers. Malarina is one of four genera comprising the subfamily Kababininae (Davies 1999). Although unplaced at the family level by Davies and Lambkin (2000), Malarina was listed in the Amphinectidae until 2008, along with other genera in the clade. The subfamily was transferred to Stiphidiidae by Gray and Smith (2008).
