Type data:
Holotype ASCU ASCTHE029987 ♂ (coll: P. Erbe, 29.ix.2003), Dubuji Boardwalk, Cape Tribulation, North Queensland.
Introduction
This species is only known from Cape Tribulation in the wet tropics of North Queensland. Little is known of its biology.

Ecological Descriptors
All stages: phloem feeder.
Diagnosis
Except for the general body colour with a cuticle closer to white than yellow gold, this species can be differentiated from M. subocellata only by the male genitalia (Soulier-Perkins 2008)
