Introduction

This species is one of three which are coloured orange, the others being M. declivus Evans and M. (Parapediopsis) citronella Hamilton. This one is only known from the type locality in the Coolgardie bioregion of Western Australia.

Ecological Descriptors

All stages: phloem feeder.

 

Diagnosis

Head, pronotum and scutellum bright orange. Tegmen narrow apically, colourless hyaline, veins pale brown. Thorax ventral surface black. Legs orange, spurs on the hind tibia black. Abdomen ventral surface black. Length 4 mm (Evans 1942).
