Family MYRMECOPHILIDAE Saussure, 1874

Introduction

A small family of small crickets (less than 4 mm long) usually found in associatrion with ants. Characterised by the hind femur more than 2/5 as wide as long and reduced compound eyes; the first tarsal segment bears 3-4 non-apical dorsal spurs. Both sexes wingless.
