Comment: (Hendels erection of this genus in Genera Insectorum in 1914 was based on illustrations. His inclusion of type material in his next publication later the same year lists the material upon which the species is based as 5 males and females distributed between the HNHM and the BMNH. However, David McAlpine recalls seeing only 1 male and 2 female specimens in the HNHM labelled as types. The male in the HNHM can be associated with the male wing illustration, but the females do not match the female wing illustration well or the head illustration).
