Diagnosis

Carapace subrhomboidal in lateral view, highest behind middle, height equalling 2/3 of length. Anterior end well rounded, posterior end oblique, drawn out into bluntly truncate caudal process situated above middle. Dorsal margin with faint anterior and more pronounced posterior cardinal angle. Ventral margin anteriorly sinuate, posteriorly convex. Surface of valves pitted. Inner lamella narrow in oral region, wider elsewhere. Line of concrescence indistinct due to wide apertures of marginal pore canals. Hinge adont. Normal pores of sieve type
