Diagnosis
Carapace transversely oval, generally much broader than long; dorsal surface convex, smooth, granular or rugose; regions prominent or hardly indicated; anterolateral margins entire or weakly dentate; front nearly straight, feebly bilobed. Antennules fold transversely. Chelipeds subequal or slightly unequal, dissimilar in males; palm elongate; fingers elongate and dentate; fixed finger without a proximal or median tooth differentiated on cutting edge. Walking legs variable in shape from subcylindrical, to moderately compressed, to flattened, sometimes slightly carinate on anterior margins; smooth or granular.
