Taxonomic Decision for Synonymy
- Riley, J., Spratt, D.M. & Presidente, P.J.A. 1985. Pentastomids (Arthropoda) parasitic in Australian reptiles and mammals. Australian Journal of Zoology 33: 39-53 [49] (stated that : "Number of annuli aside, there is nothing to distinguish L. dingophila from L. serrata; however, we believe that formal synonymy should await study of more specimens from dingoes and feral dogs, particularly hosts from those regions of Australia where hybridization between dingoes and domestic dogs is less likely to have occurred." They recorded both species from dingos)
- Poore, G.C.B. 2011. Taxonomic decision, http://biodiversity.org.au/afd (subjective synonymy of these two species concluded. The species has 11 other junior synonyms long out of use)
