Species Limotettix incertus Evans, 1966

Compiler and date details

16 June 2011 - Murray J. Fletcher

Introduction

This species is one of the most common grass feeding leafhoppers in southern Australia, particularly through the Murray Darling basin, and is also recorded from temperate and tropical regions of Western Australia. It is commonly collected in light traps. Evans (1966) recorded it from two localities in New Zealand but Knight (1975) raised doubt about the occurrence of the species in New Zealand. Larivière & Fletcher (2010) excluded it from the New Zealand fauna leaving the species as an Australian endemic.
