Diagnosis
♀. Head dark. Frons and face with dense, adpressed yellowish scales; frons with black hairs. Antennae black; style distinctly less than half as long as basal part of third segment. Hind border of eye, above and below, with a strongly marked, narrow, white stripe of scales. Occiput extremely broad in profile.
Mesonotum dark, with yellow adpressed scales, and short whitish stripes laterally; humeral calli yellow. Scutellum reddish, covered with yellow scales. Collar and sides of thorax predominantly yellow-haired. Halteres brownish. Legs brownish.
Wings with sharply marked anterobasal brown part; boundary almost straight, from base of fourth posterior cell, to apex of R1; 4 submarginal cells. First posterior cell closed. Vein r-m a little before middle of discal cell. More than posterior half of wing hyaline. Veins M1 and M2 short, S-shaped.
Abdomen black, without markings, very greasy in the holotype. Sides of first and second tergites with dense, yellowish hairs.
