Diagnosis
From the L. bombyliformis group, and very closely related to bombyliformis, differing in the following characters: (1) always with 5 submarginal cells; (2) the last 2 sternites in both sexes not dark, and covered with yellowish scales and hairs only, whereas in bombyliformis they are dark, covered with dark hairs and scales; (3) in the male, the lower genital plate bears short, not very dense, yellowish hairs, whereas in bombyliformis the hairs are comparatively longer and always black, like the other hairs covering the plate. Female similar to the male, but with broader vertex.
