Diagnosis

. Ground colour of head reddish on face and frons, and dark brown on occiput. Scales on head yellowish, hairs black, not numerous, situated mostly at apex of mouth area and on upper part of frons. Scales behind eyes paler in colour, but not pure white. Style of third antennal segment about half as long as basal part.
Thorax dark brown with reddish scutellum. Collar yellow; hairs and scales on mesonotum yellowish, paler, nearly white at wing base. Bristles black. No black bristles or hairs on mesopleura and humeral calli. Legs reddish. Halteres yellowish.
The brown part of wing and the hyaline part sharply separated; boundary of colour nearly straight, extending from mid-point of anal vein to apex of subcostal vein; third and fourth posterior cells almost clear; 4 submarginal cells. First posterior cell narrowing towards apex, but broadly open at margin of wing. Vein r-m at centre of discal cell.
Abdomen reddish, with black spots, which diminish towards apex of abdomen. The whole abdomen covered with yellow scales and a few black hairs.xon-
