Diagnosis
♀. Head reddish, very similar to that of L. commoni, but with very small yellowish scales on occiput.
Mesonotum and scutellum similar to those of commoni, but both are densely covered with yellowish, adpressed scales. Mesonotum laterally with a very narrow whitish stripe. Collar and pleura with yellowish, not orange, hairs, the yellow hairs predominating on the pleura (in commoni, the black hairs predominate). Legs brown, with black scales and hairs. Venation similar to that of commoni, but 5 submarginal cells present. At least the anterobasal half of wing regularly brown, the hyaline half smoky. About 8 dark spots at the crossing points of veins.
Abdomen short, slightly broader than thorax, black, with very narrow reddish fasciae at hind margins of tergites. First tergite with dense black hairs, with only a tuft of yellowish hairs laterally; second tergite laterally with similar yellowish hairs and scales, but most of tergite dark, without scales; the succeeding tergites with sparse yellowish scales and short, black, only moderately dense hairs. Underside black, with narrow, white-scaled fasciae at hind margin of sternites; basal half with white hairs, apical half with black.
