Diagnosis

. Ground colour of head brown, scales yellow, short hairs black. A white-scaled narrow stripe behind eyes. Style of third antennal segment comparatively short, only one-third as long as basal part.
Mesonotum brown; scutellum reddish; collar yellowish. Scales on mesonotum yellow, paler at sides. There are also moderately dense, short, erect, black hairs. Bristles black. A small tuft of black hairs present on mesopleuron, amongst the yellow ones. Legs reddish. Halteres yellow.
Wings with 4 submarginal cells. First posterior cell broadly open. Vein r-m placed distinctly beyond middle of discal cell. Vein M2 slightly S-shaped. Brown colour of wings extending almost straight from base of axillary cell to apex of R1. The greater part of axillary cell hyaline; anal cell hyaline only on its apical third.
Third and fourth posterior cells darkened only at their bases. The middle and the apex of discal cell also clear. First posterior cell dark only at base, on an area less than half its length.
First 3 tergites covered with yellow scales, the anterior area of second tergite whitish. The last 4 tergites wholly covered with pure white scales. Ground colour of abdomen reddish, with dark median areas on the more anterior tergites. Underside yellowish, with whitish scales.
