Introduction
Though traditionally recorded as such, Macquart did not provide a true emendation from Lemtopeza to Leptopeza in his 1834 work according to Art. 33b of the Code. Lemtopeza is not an incorrect original spelling according to Art 32c of the Code and should be treated as the correct orthography for this genus. However, following established common usage and in order to maintain stability, Leptopeza is used as the accepted orthography for this genus. References to Zetterstedt (1837) as having provided the first emendation are in error as proven by a thorough search of his Isis article and other articles by Zetterstedt in years previous and subsequent to it - N.
