Genus Lasioseius Berlese, 1916

Introduction

The genus Lasioseius has previously been placed in the Family Ascidae. However, it is here placed in the Family Blattisociidae, following the classification in Lindquist et al. (2009). A complete synonymy for the genus and a review of some important diagnostic characters was provided by Walter & Lindquist (1997). Beaulieu & Weeks (2007) reviewed the state of knowledge and ecological significance of this group in Australia. Many undescribed species are known to exist, as reported for example by Stone & Simpson (1990), Walter (1995, 1999), Walter et al. (1994), Walter & Lindquist & (1995), Waite & Gerson (1995), Proctor et al. (2011), Manwaring et al. (2018) and Walter & Stirling (2018).
