Tribe Kamendakini Emeljanov, 1994

Compiler and date details

20 December 2013 - Murray J. Fletcher

Introduction

This mainly oriental tribe was created by Emeljanov (1994) to include the single genus Kamendaka Distant. Species of this genus differ from the Rhotanini, to which they otherwise have affinity, by the absence of sensory pits along the basal section of vein CuA in the forewing. Only two species are known in Australia, both restricted to the eastern coastline of Queensland.

Diagnosis

Branches of CuA of forewings apically fused. Jugal margin of hindwings with stridulatory plate. Hindwings well developed, usually broad and reaching well beyond half length of forewings. Clavus closed apically. Stem of CuA on forewings lacking sensory pits.
