Species Ixodes laridis Heath & Palma, 2017
Introduction
Heath & Palma (2017) showed that many published records of Ixodes eudyptidis actually refer to another species, which they described as Ixodes laridis Heath & Palma, 2017. Ixodes eudyptidis occurs only on penguins, while Ixodes laridis occurs on gulls, gannets, and cormorants. All previous records of I. eudyptidis should be reconsidered in that context.
