Introduction
The Australian paralysis tick Ixodes holocyclus has been the subject of a very large literature, as a result of its medical and veterinary importance. Only a few selected references are listed here. A general review of its biology and medical importance is avaliable at the following web site: http://medent.usyd.edu.au/fact/ticks.htm. Barker & Walker (2014) reviewed the biology and morphology of this species in detail.
