Diagnosis
Column divisible into short, distinct, clean, thin-walled scapulus and a thick-walled scapus bearing prominent tenaculi in its distal half. Sand grains may adhere to tenaculi. Column constricted just above pedal disc. Tentacles, approximately 80, thin, evenly tapered and acute, inner twice as long than outer. Mesogloeal sphincter muscle strong, stratified near margin, and wide so it fills mesogloea, and gradually becoming alveolar and narrow down the column. Mesenteries divisible into macrocnemes and microcnemes; 24 pairs of mesenteries. First cycle and most of second cycle fertile and complete. Mesenteries within a pair of the second cycle may be different sizes. Acontia sparce and short. Cinclides not observed in specimen when described. Actinopharynx longitudinally furrowed, with two prominent siphonoglyphs.
