Genus Holconia Thorell, 1877

Introduction

Hirst (1990) split the genus Isopeda into three genera, Isopeda, Isopedella, and Holconia. Recent phylogenetic analyses conducted by Agnarsson & Rayor (2013) and Gorneau et al. (2022) have demonstrated that while the three genera do form a clade, the genera as currently defined, are not monophyletic. Gorneau et al. (2022) recognises that on the current analyses, synonymy of the three genera is possible, but they have refrained from doing so as major taxonomic change was beyond the scope of the study, and they think further studies of the relationships between the three genera is necessary.
