Introduction
This genus which is distributed mainly in the Palaearctic region has one described species in Africa and one in Australia. Hamilton (1980) notes that an additional three undescribed species are known from Australia. The distribution given here is for the only described species but these records may prove to include more than one species.

Diagnosis
Comme Macropsis, sauf les caractères différentiels mentionnés dan le tableau des genres de la sous-famille, dont le principal consiste dans l'absence d'appendice au bord ventral des lobes du pygophore ♂. Tête plus étroite que le pronotum. Antéclypeus non dilaté à la base chez le ♂, de même forme que chez la ♀, ainsi que les brides. ♂ tige du pénis comprimée. Gonopore sur la face postérieure. Apophyse des styles droite sur une grande longueur. Lobes du pygophore courts, à extrémité largement arrondie. Premier segment anal presque complètement sclérifié sue le dos et les côtés. ♀ sternite prégénital en rectangle transverse (Ribaut 1952).
Face as in Macropsis but with large lora; head either narrower than pronotum or same width. Pronotum slightly declivous, striations weakly oblique. Tegmina with three anteapical cells. Hind tibial macrosetae 5–7. Male pygofer unarmed or with short stout spine arising on ventral margin, directed dorsad; dorsal connectives slender and unarmed or unsclerotised (Hamilton 1980).
