Lectotype AM I.15717-001, Near Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.
Paralectotype(s) AM I.15584-001, Near Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea
Comment: Although Whitley designated a holotype and paratype, they were two of three specimens alive in an aquarium when the species was described. Upon their death it was not possible to determine which were the type specimens so Dingerkus & De Fino (1983) designated a lectotype.Subsequent designation references:
