Ecological Descriptors
Marine.
Diagnosis
Cylindrical, worm-shaped, column divisible into capitulum, scapus, and physa. Scapus with a rough yellowish cuticle, to which fine grains of basalt adhere. Tentacles twenty, short, delicate, cylindrical. Capitulum and physa purple, scapus brownish-red. Occurs in shallow, muddy sediments.
