Diagnosis

Carapace deep, subquadrilateral, narrowing posteriorly; dorsal regions not strongly marked; anterolateral margins straight or slightly arched. Front narrow, deflexed, forming a lobe between eyestalks. Interantennular septum broad; antennules folding obliquely; antennular flagellum small. Third maxilliped completely closing buccal cavern; exopod visible. Chelipeds equal, small in females, large in males. Brush of long setae edging pouch leading into branchial cavity between bases of third and fourth pereiopods. Thoracic sternum narrowed posteriorly. Male genital openings coxo-sternal.
