Introduction

Hahniids construct small sheet webs in litter, under bark and in foliage.

 

Diagnosis

Hahniines can be easily recognised by the alignment of the spinnerets,which lie in a transverse row. Small, 3-clawed spiders with six spinnerets in a transverse line. Tracheal spiracle wide, in advance of spinnerets (tracheal branches to cephalothorax). Posterior eye row usually procurved. Colulus reduced or absent. A row of trichobothria (usually 2) on metartarsi and tarsi. Male palp with patellar as well as tibial apophysis. Epigynum not strongly sclerotised.
