Introduction
Tessens et al. (2021) demonstrated that Gyratrix hermaphroditus is actually a large cryptic complex of 62 or 78 putative species (dependent on method of species delineation); these putative species exhibit wide variation in their distribution ranges. None of these species were formally described in the paper, although 11 putative species were identified across sampling localities in the Northern Territory, Victoria and South Australia.
