Introduction

This brachypterous species is only known from Barrow Island, Western Australia. The type series was mainly collected with suction samplers so it is probable that the species lives on low shrubs or at ground level.

Ecological Descriptors

All stages: phloem feeder.

 

Diagnosis

The two species of Gunawardenea can be differentiated by the dark markings on the head as illustrated at http://www1.dpi.nsw.gov.au/keys/leafhop/deltocephalinae/athysanini.htm.
