Introduction

Griffithsina connorsiana differs from Scagacola cavernula by the sculpture of prominent, bold radial ribs and very reduced spiral striae and smaller umbilicus. Animal dark grey above with orange-brown sides.

Ecological Descriptors

Dry vine thickets, under rocks.

 

Diagnosis

Shell medium-sized, reddish-brown to yellowish with darker radial streaks, subdiscoidal to subglobose with a domed spire; protoconch smooth with weak radial ridges, strongly curved at the protoconch/teleoconch boundary, teleoconch sculpture of closely spaced, prominent radial ribs grading to weak growth lines on last whorl; umbilicus narrow, V-shaped; diameter 22.5mm.
