Species Glyphipterix gypsonota (Turner, 1927)

General References

Edwards, E.D. 1996. Glyphipterigidae. 54 in Nielsen, E.S., Edwards, E.D. & Rangsi, T.V. (eds). Checklist of the Lepidoptera of Australia. Monographs on Australian Lepidoptera. Collingwood : CSIRO Publishing Vol. 4 xiv 529 pp. & CD-ROM. (Note #12: Glyphipterix gypsonota Turner, 1927 and G. leucargyra Turner, 1927 were described simultaneously. G. gypsonota Turner [was] given priority as first reviser. There is little doubt that they are sexes of the same species and are regularly taken flying together. Turner (1927a) described both sexes of G. leucargyra Turner but an examination of Turner's syntypes in ANIC reveals that they are all females. G. gypsonota Turner [was] given priority because the specimen of G. leucargyra Turner marked as a 'type' by Turner is without an abdomen)
