Introduction
Gastrocopta stupefaciens can be distinguished from the sympatric G. macdonnelli by the combination of strongly fused parieto-angular lamellae and descending columellar barrier. This species was originally recorded as the Indonesian G. recondita (Tapparone-Canefri, 1883) by Solem (1989).
