Introduction

Gastrocopta is a cosmopolitan genus found throughout drier areas on the Australian mainland. Gastrocopta differs from Pumilicopta by having fewer and less recessed apertural teeth and a more cylindrical coiling pattern.

Diagnosis

Shell tiny, cylindrically pupiform, mainly dextral with one sinistral species, smooth with occasional, very fine growth threads, opaque; aperture quadrate to subquadrate with varying numbers and arrangements of teeth and lamellae; lip strongly reflected; umbilicus extremely narrow. Colour silky drab white to brown.
