Introduction

Gastrocopta pediculus is a common and widespread species living in a wide variety of habitats. It is distinguished from other Gastrocopta spp. by a combination of the relatively weakly developed apertural barriers and the horizontal columellar lamella.

Diagnosis

Shell tiny, translucent drab white, pupiform, smooth; aperture quadrate to subquadrate with up to six barriers: a prominent parieto-angular, a horizontal columellar, and a lower palatal, occasionally with weak upper palatal lamellae, as well as basal and infraparietal denticles; height to 3.2mm.
