Introduction
Gastrocopta macdonnelli is a tropical species. It can be distinguished from the somewhat similar G. stupafaciens by the combination of a strongly fused parieto-angular barrier and the strongly descending columellar lamellae.

Diagnosis
Shell very small, translucent grey-white, ovately-pupiform, smooth; aperture ovate to subquadrate with six to eight barriers: a large strongly fused parieto-angular, a descending columellar lamella, prominent upper and lower palatal lamellae, and knob-like basal and infraparietal denticles, occasionally with weak supra- and inter-palatal denticles; height to 2.5 mm.
