Introduction
Gastrocopta hedleyi is a basically eastern Australian species with isolated records fron the Red Centre, and the Pilbara region and Kimberley, Western Australia. It is distinguished from G. pediculus by the presence of slanted columellar lamella and from G. mussoni by the convergent rather than parallel palatal lamellae.

Disjunct and scattered distribution from the Hunter Valley, NSW to SE and Cape York Peninsula, QLD, to central Australia (Glen Helen area), and Kimberley and Pilbara region, N WA.

Diagnosis
Shell very small, translucent grey-white, pupiform, smooth; aperture ovate to subquadrate with five to six barriers: a very large, sinuous parieto-angular, an ascending columellar and two curved and posteriorly convergent upper and lower palatal lamellae, occasionally with weak infraparietal and basal denticles; height 2.5 mm.
